Preserving Culture Through Modern Digital Experience

The Hindi Magazine is a digital publication dedicated to Indian civilization, culture, literature, and contemporary thought in the Hindi language. The objective of this project was to modernize the platform with a high-performance, scalable WordPress solution while preserving its editorial depth and cultural essence.

We redesigned and rebuilt the entire website with a custom Gutenberg-based theme to improve readability, content discoverability, performance, and long-term scalability—without relying on heavy page builders or plugins.

Challenges in Scaling a Content-Heavy Hindi Publication

The existing website faced multiple challenges:

• Outdated UI with poor mobile and reading experience

• The previous website faced multiple challenges including slow page load times, limited content discoverability, and a rigid navigation structure that made it difficult for readers to explore categories and featured articles.Additionally, managing large volumes of editorial content and presenting it in a clean, structured, and mobile-friendly layout was a major requirement for long-term scalability.

The biggest challenge was handling a content-heavy Hindi publication while keeping the site fast, clean, and easy for editors to manage.

A Custom-Built Editorial Platform with Performance at Core

We designed and developed a 100% custom WordPress theme using ACF Pro and Gutenberg, tailored specifically for editorial workflows. A fully custom mega menu system was built using ACF Pro, allowing flexible control over categories, featured posts, and editorial highlights—without relying on third-party plugins.

The platform was optimized for speed, SEO, and accessibility, ensuring readers enjoy a seamless experience across devices while editors benefit from an intuitive backend.
